Data Sources

A Perfect Draft is an independent project built around public sports history. We credit the databases, APIs, open projects, and researchers that make this kind of historical sports game possible.

Sports facts like names, stats, schedules, and results are public facts, but the people who collect and organize them deserve visible credit. Where a mode is still a prototype, we say so. Where a source is under review or permission-pending, we say that too.

Prototype source status

Basketball

Basketball is currently a prototype. Its in-game data is local test data while we evaluate a production-quality source that covers the full historical window we need.

Before Basketball is treated as production-ready, this page will be updated with the final data source, license, and attribution language.

Prototype source status

Hockey

Hockey is in data-pipeline work. The prototype uses locally curated test data while we build and verify a source stack for NHL player cards.

We are not scraping permission-protected hockey sites for production. Permission-pending sources are credited here as research leads, not final shipped data sources.

Prototype source status

Soccer

Soccer is a prototype using league-pool test data generated from public player-rating and open football data research.

Soccer source coverage is still being reviewed before this mode is considered production-ready.
